Boat owners in South Florida now have a store designed with them in mind.
Publix Super Markets opened its new location on December 12th in Hollywood Beach, featuring a dock that allows customers to arrive by boat from the intracoastal waterway and shop conveniently.
Located at 3100 S. Ocean Drive, the 29,912 square-foot waterfront store offers a full range of services, including a deli, artisan bakery, fresh seafood counter, and a wine section. Inside, customers will find seating areas, while the dock has benches for enjoying quick meals outdoors.
“We are excited to open this long-anticipated store,” said Lindsey Willis, Publix Public Relations Manager. “We look forward to welcoming our customers to their new Publix in Hollywood, introducing them to a variety of new offerings, and providing the quality service and products they know and love.”
The store also features a full-service pharmacy that offers personal care products, including nutritional supplements, over-the-counter medications, and prescription medications.
The plans for the waterfront Publix were first announced in September 2019, after TransAmerican Development Corp. acquired the 1.15-acre site for $4.5 million. The vacant property was sold by Hollywood 3100 LLC, which was managed at the time by Carlos Gabriel Tarrab of Bal Harbour.

Hollywood has a rich nautical history spanning over a century, sharing its maritime legacy with neighboring Fort Lauderdale, often called the "Venice of America" and the home of the largest boat show in the world.
Broward County, where Hollywood is located, is among the top five Florida counties with the most registered recreational vessels, with 47,741 boats according to the latest data from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
The neighboring Miami-Dade County leads the state with 74,622 registered vessels. Florida, in general, has over a million registered recreational boats, reinforcing its reputation as the “Boating Capital of the World.”
Hollywood spans 27.3 square miles, with a population of 153,067, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. The city has an employment rate of 58.7% and an average household income of $60,630.
