The construction of the iconic $840 million Miami bridge is taking shape.

The construction teams have begun to raise the artistic structure of the $840 million reconstruction project of Interstate 395 in Miami.
The roadworks on the highway that connects Interstate 95 and State Route 836/Dolphin Expressway with the MacArthur Causeway and Miami Beach have been underway thanks to a partnership between the Florida Department of Transportation and the Greater Miami Expressway Agency. It is expected to be completed in 2027.
The Fountain Signature Bridge, designed by Donald MacDonald Architects, will consist of six arches. The tallest arch will reach 330 feet in height. Each arch is made up of 345 individual prefabricated segments, each weighing around 90 tons.
The project also includes the expansion of I-395 from two lanes to three lanes in both directions and transforms the Dolphin Expressway into a two-level highway starting from 17th Avenue. More than 30 acres of community spaces will be created beneath the Fountain I-395 Signature Bridge. These public spaces will include amenities such as an amphitheater, parks, public art, and commercial options that will extend from Overtown and Omni to the Midtown and Edgewater neighborhoods.
