How to invest in Florida: experts come to Bogotá to present new real estate opportunities
Apr 22, 2025
On April 8 and 9, Bogotá will host the Miami Investment Forum, an event where attendees will learn firsthand about opportunities and strategies for investing in the real estate market of Miami and Orlando.
In recent years, Florida, in the United States, has positioned itself as a destination for tourism, investment, and home purchasing for thousands of Colombians, primarily in Miami. According to official figures, nearly 10 percent of the total international property purchases in the state have been made by nationals, attracted by the profitability and benefits of the area.
“The factors that have driven this phenomenon are diverse, but the search for economic stability, diversification of investments in safe markets, the ease of financing, and the tax benefits offered by the U.S. market stand out. Likewise, cities like Miami have world-class transportation infrastructure, as the city's airport operates more than 52 million trips annually, and the Port of Miami accommodates more than seven million cruise passengers. Additionally, the train connects Miami to Orlando in just three hours,” said Jenny Serra, Realtor in Florida and a member of the event organization.
With the aim of continuing to promote these opportunities for Colombians, all the offerings from Miami and Orlando arrived on April 8 and 9 in Bogotá at the sixth edition of the “Miami Investment Forum,” an event designed “for Colombians interested in investing abroad to protect their capital from inflation and generate income in a stable currency,” said Macarena Sepúlveda, who is part of the organization.

“The event will give us an intimate look at the Florida real estate market, as well as ways to access financing in the United States, projects in pre-construction or in plans, and developments in various segments for different budgets,” said the expert, who added that Colombians are attracted by the speed, agility, and the few requirements during the process.
Serra indicated that this is a segment in constant growth, which seduces Colombians both for the opportunities and the cultural closeness and customs, but “it is essential to accompany this immersion with the guidance of experts.”
Growing Market
“It is important to highlight that the Florida real estate market is growing, driven by strong demand and an expanding economy. Internal migration has been significant, with more than 400,000 new residents in 2024 and the arrival of more than 200 companies, such as Amazon, Microsoft, or Apple,” stated Claudia Cervi, real estate advisor in the state of Florida and a member of the Miami Investment Forum.
Similarly, Miami is the second city in the world in appreciation of prime properties, surpassing Paris, Monaco, and New York, thanks to its high financial returns and the stability of the luxury real estate market, Cervi specified.
During the event, very attractive real estate projects will be revealed, personalized appointments can be scheduled with Realtors, who will answer all questions for those interested in investing, and we also have an agenda that includes real estate professionals of the highest level, with extensive experience in real estate in South Florida and advice to foreign investors, particularly Colombians.
The meeting will feature projects like Shoma Bay, The Well Coconut Grove, The Well, Standard Brickell, Rider Residence, Viceroy Fort Lauderdale, Visions Orlando, 72 Park, 165 Wyn, One W12, and Flow Miami. These options offer attractive investment opportunities with benefits like the exemption from state income tax, consolidating Florida as a strategic destination for those seeking financial stability and asset growth.
Personalized Attention
During the event, which will take place at the JW Marriott Hotel Bogotá, (calle 73 #8-60, Chapinero), there will be presentations at 9 a.m., 3 p.m., and 6 p.m., followed by personalized talks scheduled with top-level real estate professionals, with extensive experience in real estate and counseling to foreign investors. “With them, you can delve into various topics related to investments in Florida,” concluded Sepúlveda.

Throughout the day of the Miami Investment Forum in Bogotá, there will be a space reserved for attendees who cannot participate in the scheduled talks, where timely information and advice will be offered. The goal is for all interested parties to interact directly with the key players in the real estate sector and receive personalized guidance.
